Pennsylvania nonprofit awards loans to struggling small businesses
A Pennsylvania nonprofit dedicated to supporting small businesses hurt by COVID-19 has awarded loans to local businesses in all 67 counties.
The Pennsylvania 30 Day Fund, which provides $3,000 forgivable loans to small businesses affected by the pandemic or recent civil unrest, has awarded loans to 800 business owners statewide in every Pennsylvania county through private fundraising.
BS Outfitters 259, a branding and marketing business in Armstrong County, was the latest recipient.
As mitigation efforts to quell the latest COVID-19 surge threaten small businesses, founders Jeff Bartos, Jeff Brown, Richard Phillips and Roger Braunfeld hope to provide relief to 1,000 business owners by the end of 2020.
Through the support of a sizable donation from Spring Point Partners, the nonprofit has secured more than $3.1 million raised. The money can be used to cover payroll expenses, health care, rent, inventory and operating expenses.
