Jeffrey Brown appointed board chair of the Pennsylvania 30 Day Fund

Philadelphia, PA [February 16, 2021] — Jeff Bartos, board chair and co-founder of the nonprofit Pennsylvania 30 Day Fund, today announced that he will be stepping back from day-to-day operations of the Fund. Jeffrey Brown, a board member and co-founder, has been elected as the new board chair as the Pennsylvania 30 Day Fund continues its work to aid small business owners and their employees across Pennsylvania.

Jeff Bartos along with Jeffrey Brown, Richard Phillips and Roger Braunfeld co-founded the Pennsylvania 30 Day Fund in April 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and its devastating impact on small businesses. Over the past ten months, the Pennsylvania 30 Day Fund has raised more than $3.3 million dollars and has helped small business owners across Pennsylvania keep the lights on and save thousands of jobs.

“Our dedicated group of volunteers has worked every day over the past ten months to help small business owners across Pennsylvania sustain their dream of owning a business. Working to help these resilient, optimistic and inspiring women and men has been the most rewarding and important job I’ve ever had,” said Jeff Bartos. “Thanks to the leadership of our entire board, our volunteers and our generous supporters, I am confident that the Pennsylvania 30 Day Fund will be here to help many more remarkable small business owners and their employees. There is much work ahead, and I will continue to fight on behalf of the small businesses and their employees who enrich, and in many ways define our communities.”

“In April 2020, weeks into the pandemic, no one knew what to do and small businesses were hanging on by a thread. Jeff Bartos had a vision, brought people together and made a difference. Today we have helped over 1000 small businesses across the commonwealth, protecting thousands of Pennsylvania jobs. Even though we’ve been at this for nearly a year, we are just getting started. We look forward to ensuring the continued success of the Pennsylvania 30 Day Fund,” said incoming board chair Jeffrey Brown. In reflecting on the partnership that he has formed with Jeff Brown over the past year, Bartos said, “Jeff Brown deserves a Nobel Prize for his remarkable work on behalf of Philadelphians and their families these past two decades. Jeff Brown is a trusted friend and mentor, and I am deeply grateful that he will be the board chair of the Pennsylvania 30 Day Fund going forward.”
